How can we talk about miracles with the people around us without them thinking that Jesus was a magician? In this humorous point-and-click adventure you are transported to a parallel universe to rescue the wizard Calypso from the evil sorcerer Sordid. Why were the people won over by Simon the Sorcerer? How did his tricks differ from God’s miracles and signs? Simon was won over by Jesus and another soul was saved! DB Questions He didn’t win a trip to Vegas something much more wonderful happened. Philip discipled him and let him follow him. Simon learned where real power came from, God. While the people may have been fooled by his tricks, he wasn’t fooled by them. This account of Philip and Simon shows this couldn’t be further from the truth. Sometimes it’s tempting to think that the miracles Jesus and the Apostles performed were magic tricks that fooled simple people into following them and ‘Hey Presto!’ Christianity was born.
He was baptised and followed Philip, astonished by the signs and miracles he saw. Instead he healed them and proclaimed the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Philip came into town and began to cut Simon the Sorcerer’s grass! But Philip didn’t perform tricks, he didn’t pull rabbits out of hats or fool people. He was at the top of his game and many people thought he had the great power of God! But suddenly there was a new show in town. Simon was an illusionist like Penn and Teller. If they guess right then the magicians humbly acknowledge that they are right and if Penn and Teller can’t figure out how the trick is performed they win a trip to Las Vegas and their secret is safe. In the show, magicians perform a magic trick and Penn and Teller, experienced illusionists themselves, try to guess how the trick is performed.

There are several magicians in the Bible, but none of them are helpful to God.The TV show ‘Penn and Teller: Fool us’ is a great show with plenty of laughs and insights. The Bible tells us that these so-called “magicians” were unable to achieve anything supernatural they didn’t have any power over what they claimed they could do-they just talked big! There are a few magicians in the bible, but they were not helpful to God. It also tells us about how magicians tried their luck with divination (fortune-telling) but failed miserably every time (Numbers 22:6). In Numbers 22-28 we learn about Balaam and how he tried to curse Israel before he was punished by God this story is known as Balaam’s donkey. Hes dressed in his wizarding robes and has a very long wand to help him do his magic tricks. They were never helpful to God or his people, nor did they ever do anything good for other people or themselves. Simon is so excited to be going off to wizard school this year. In fact, you can’t find anything positive about them anywhere in the Bible-nothing. Magicians are mentioned in the Bible a few times, and they aren’t portrayed as helpful to anyone. “Come with me,” he added as an invitation for Simon to become a follower of Christ. He asked Philip, one of Jesus’ disciples, “What are you doing here?” According to Acts 8:9-13, Philip told him all about Jesus and His sacrifice for everyone’s sins. Well into your journey, you’ll have the opportunity to control a second playable character, requiring the two to work together as you switch. This is the Magic Kingdom, after all, so leave your real-world logic at home. Simon Magus wanted to learn more about this new faith.
